PROJECT DETAIL

Objective:

Powering multiple buildings, both on and off grid, for Sea Dragon Lodge Luxury Eco Accommodation

2014 Install (Autonomy): While the site had grid power available, it wasn’t adequate for the power needed by the new eco villas. The grid will provide backup power for low battery SOC% or high power demand.

2018 Installs (Autonomy Upgrade, and Complete System): With more villas and a new office built, the original system needed expansion.
A separate off grid system was also needed for the new staff quarters, a cottage, and a 3 bedroom villa.

Site Considerations:

Cable sizes needed to be carefully planned for both the 2014 and 2018 installations as the buildings were, in some cases, quite a distance apart.

Load Analysis:

2014 Install

  • Average summer demand: 17.61kWh
  • Average winter demand: 12.35kWh
  • Demand surge: 8.82kW

2018 Off-Grid Install

  • Average summer demand: 30.64kWh
  • Average winter demand: 30.64kWh

2018 Off Grid Install

  • 2 x BYD BBox LV PRO battery units (27.6kWh)
  • REC 295W Twin Peak Solar Panels (5.9kW)
  • Fronius Primo 6kW Solar Inverter
  • Select.Live system monitoring
  • Tilted solar framing
