PROJECT DETAIL

Objectives & Site Considerations:

Odonata Foundation needed a small off-grid system to power the Rangers Office, which was mostly used during the day.

The foundation is an environmental charity working to protect threatened species – notably the Eastern Quoll, Southern Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby, Eastern Barred Bandicoot, and Bush Stone-curlew. Their aim is to scale up to 30 Sanctuaries by 2030.

Load Analysis:

Average summer demand: 7.8kWh
Average winter demand: 7.5kWh
Demand surge: 5.9kW

System Design:

  • Victron Multiplus-II 5kW inverter/charger
  • BYD Premium LVS batteries (8kWh)
  • Trina Solar modules (4.68kW)
  • Victron SmartSolar MPPT charge controller
