Objectives & Site Considerations:
Keith wanted a small off grid system for a shed, to run 4 hi bay LED lights, hand power tools, and a few trickle battery chargers. The shed was completely wired and was previously running solely off a diesel generator for one to two weeks a month. Keith was prepared to still use the generator when using his welder, car hoist, or air compressor to keep the system sizing and cost down.
The shed roof runs roughly north south and is 5m high but had a lean to on northern end facing north which is approximately 2.5 mts high.
Load Analysis:
Average summer demand: 7.7kWh
Average winter demand: 7.7kWh
Demand surge: 900W
System Design:
After running their Murray Cod Aquaculture operation from expensive diesel generators for years, Coobool Downs wanted an alternative.
A huge effort by our team to salvage this system and provide a safe and working off-grid system for the Farrowing Property.
An off-grid system was required to replace the existing diesel generating plant, to offset diesel costs.
