PROJECT NAME:
Objective:
Power for 6 luxury accommodation villas, and homestead.
Faced with the cost of a grid infrastructure upgrade, including a new transformer and private power poles, which would then only provide an unreliable power – the customer decided that going off grid was a much more reliable and cost-effective option. With the added bonus that he didn’t have to deal with power utilities or retailers by going off the grid.
This whole property is off-grid in every sense. Including huge rainwater storage, fire-fighting facilities, and reed-bed sewage wastewater filtration system.
Site Considerations:
Off-grid system installation in shed, with solar arrays installed on the shed roof as well as ground mounted. AC sub-mains electrical connection from the system switchboard to the house/cabin switchboard will be completed after the off-grid system installation as the cabins were yet to be built.
Load Analysis:
Average summer demand: 78.35kWh
Average winter demand: 85.76kWh
Demand surge: 34.14kW
