PROJECT NAME:
Objectives & Site Considerations:
One of South Australia’s most breathtaking properties, ‘Little Cuttlefish’, is 135 acres of coastal beauty on the eastern side of Kangaroo Island. Designed by SA architects Geoff Nairn and Tim Ross of DesignInc, this clifftop, rammed earth residence had an existing standalone power system that was insufficient for the required power.
The existing standalone power system, with solar installed on ground-mounted frames up behind the house, was to be kept on site. The new off-grid system would be installed inside a custom Stratco equipment enclosure.
Load Analysis:
Average summer demand: 41kWh
Average winter demand: 49kWh
Demand surge: 11.5kW
