Objectives & Site Considerations:
One of South Australia’s most breathtaking properties, ‘Little Cuttlefish’, is 135 acres of coastal beauty on the eastern side of Kangaroo Island. Designed by SA architects Geoff Nairn and Tim Ross of DesignInc, this clifftop, rammed earth residence had an existing standalone power system that was insufficient for the required power.
The existing standalone power system, with solar installed on ground-mounted frames up behind the house, was to be kept on site. The new off-grid system would be installed inside a custom Stratco equipment enclosure.
Average summer demand: 41kWh

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We would like to specifically acknowledge the Kaurna, Wathaurong, Wonnarua, Wiradjuri and Boonwurrung people. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
